MOBILE MECHANIC WAKEFIELD

Head mechanic Dylans story

My passion for automobiles was ignited by observing my father and grandfather expertly repairing vehicles. Spending my days off from school assisting my father at his wagon company deepened my interest in solving mechanical puzzles.

This led me to pursue a college education, culminating in earning my NVQ Level 3 certification in vehicle maintenance and repair.

Transitioning from college, I eagerly embarked on a voluntary position at a garage to cultivate hands-on experience. Within a year, I secured a paid position as a service technician, marking the beginning of my professional journey.

Progressing swiftly within the company, I obtained qualifications such as IMI MOT testing certification, ultimatley assuming a managerial role.

After dedicating seven years to honing my skills, I felt the urge to advance my career further and venture into owning something I can call my own – Newell Autos began!

The Importance of Using a Qualified Mechanic to Fix Your Car

When it comes to maintaining and repairing your vehicle, the importance of using a qualified mechanic such as Newell Autos, cannot be overstated. Cars are complex machines with numerous systems that require expert knowledge and precise handling. In the UK, where driving is an integral part of daily life, ensuring your vehicle is serviced and repaired by a qualified professional is essential for safety, reliability, and longevity. Here, we explore the myriad reasons why entrusting your car to a qualified mechanic is a wise decision.

Safety First

The primary reason for using a qualified mechanic is safety. Vehicles are equipped with intricate systems that must work in harmony to ensure safe operation. Brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems are just a few examples where improper handling can lead to serious accidents. Qualified mechanics undergo extensive training to understand these systems thoroughly and how to repair them correctly. They are well-versed in the latest safety protocols and standards, ensuring that your car is repaired to the highest safety standards.

Expertise and Knowledge

Qualified mechanics such as Newell Autos, have undergone rigorous education and training, often including apprenticeships and formal qualifications such as NVQs or City & Guilds certifications. This extensive training equips them with the technical knowledge required to diagnose and fix a wide range of issues accurately. Unlike unqualified individuals who might rely on guesswork, qualified mechanics use systematic approaches to identify problems. This expertise not only ensures the correct repair but also helps in identifying potential issues before they become major problems.

Preserving Your Warranty

Many vehicle warranties require that repairs and servicing be carried out by qualified mechanics to remain valid. Using an unqualified mechanic can void your warranty, leaving you unprotected against future repair costs. By choosing a qualified mechanic, you ensure that all work is documented and meets the standards required to maintain your warranty. This documentation can also be beneficial when selling your car, as it provides a clear service history to potential buyers.

Access to the Right Tools and Equipment

Modern vehicles require specialised tools and diagnostic equipment for accurate servicing and repairs. Qualified mechanics have access to these tools and the training to use them correctly. Whether it’s a computerised diagnostic machine or specialised tools for engine repairs, these resources enable mechanics to perform precise and efficient work. Without the right equipment, even a minor issue can become complicated, leading to incorrect repairs and further damage.

Quality Parts and Repairs

Qualified mechanics use high-quality parts that meet or exceed the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications. Using inferior or incorrect parts can lead to premature wear and failure, compromising the safety and performance of your vehicle. Qualified mechanics understand the importance of using the right parts and have access to reputable suppliers. This ensures that your car runs as intended and maintains its value over time.

Legal Compliance

In the UK, certain repairs and modifications must comply with legal standards and regulations. Qualified mechanics such as Newell Autos are familiar with these regulations and ensure that all work carried out on your vehicle is compliant. This is particularly important for MOT (Ministry of Transport) tests, where non-compliance can result in your vehicle failing the test. By using a qualified mechanic, you can avoid legal issues and ensure your car is roadworthy.

Saving Time and Money

While it might seem cheaper to use an unqualified mechanic or attempt DIY repairs, this often leads to more significant expenses in the long run. Incorrectly performed repairs can cause further damage, requiring more extensive and costly repairs later. Qualified mechanics fix the issue correctly the first time, saving you time and money. Their expertise allows for efficient diagnosis and repair, reducing downtime and getting you back on the road quicker.

Maintaining Resale Value

A car that has been regularly serviced and repaired by a qualified mechanic such as Newell Autos, will have a higher resale value. Potential buyers are more likely to trust a vehicle with a documented service history from a reputable mechanic. This history demonstrates that the car has been well-maintained and is less likely to have hidden issues. Investing in qualified mechanics can thus pay off when it’s time to sell or trade in your vehicle.

Peace of Mind

Finally, using a qualified mechanic such as Newell Autos, provides peace of mind. Knowing that a trained professional is handling your vehicle ensures that it is in safe and capable hands. This confidence allows you to focus on other aspects of your life, without the stress and worry about your car’s reliability and safety. Regular maintenance and prompt repairs by a qualified mechanic can significantly reduce the likelihood of unexpected breakdowns and costly repairs, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable driving experience.
